The Dairy Cafe

The Dairy cafe is Franklins Farms’ own on-farm Cafe, serving Breakfasts made from fresh produce, Good Coffee, home-made cakes, and a selection of easy lunches and light bites.

We are dog friendly, you can bring your well-behaved furry friend into the Cafe (but not the Farm Shop) as long as they are on a lead. There is a doggy drinking bowl outside in the picnic area too.

We are also cyclist friendly! There is a drinking water tap in the picnic area to refill your drinking bottles. You can sit with your cycles undercover in the ‘corridor’, or in the picnic area.

We have found that the system that works best is to come in to the Cafe to order and pay for your food and drinks required, and then we will bring your food and drinks to you. We have a lovely selection of home-made cakes and scones, as well as a kitchen producing fresh food to order, using our own delicious meat from the Farm Shop. Our barista coffee machine makes a jolly good cup of coffee, latte, cappucciono, espresso, mocha or Americano. Please come and see for yourself!

  • Opening Hours
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm
  • Sat 9am to 4pm
  • Sun 10am to 3pm.

We take last food orders an hour before closing.

WE ARE CLOSED ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAYS

The Dairy Cafe at Franklins Farm

You may have wondered why we called our lovely new cafe The Dairy Cafe when we don’t actually have a dairy on the farm. Well, here’s the story…Many years ago, the Franklin family also ran a dairy farm at Hoo Farm in Cople and an ice cream parlour in Bedford. They delivered milk daily to people in Cople, Cardington and Fenlake. Eventually, the dairy part of the farm was closed and some of the cows became pets. In fact, one of my first memories of meeting John’s family was visiting him when I was very little and being able to watch a calf being born, Demelza, which was one of the calves from one of the cows that came from the dairy.Recently, just as we were trying to think of a name for the cafe, John’s Uncle gave him some of the old dairy milk bottles that were used at the original dairy. So the bottles now display the table numbers (so we can get the right order to the right people! 🙈) and we took the name to pay homage to The Franklin’s Heritage.

Come and visit. Hope to see you soon!
